Last year, Granada Theater was the setting for the first annual Gorilla vs Bear Festival.  We saw the likes of Sleep ∞ Over, Grimes, Julianna Barwick, Shabazz Palaces, the debut of Preteen Zenith (Polyphonic Spree’s Tim DeLaughter with former Tripping Daisy’s Philip Karnats), and White Denim.  The day was a massive amount of fun and was a great chance to see artists that were soon to blow up huge.  We’re excited about this year’s line-up, which rules pretty hard.

This year we’ll see:

A.Dd+, the badass local hip-hop duo that’s been gaining a ton of strength

Laurel Halo, murky electronic artist from Brooklyn

Taken By Trees, hypnotizing vocals and Middle Eastern instrumentations of Victoria Bergsman

Twin Sister, Long Island pop band that combines Chillwave with Dream Pop and Disco

Chromatics, Synthpop group famously featured in the Drive film soundtrack

Glass Candy, Electro duo that blends elements of No Wave and Glam Rock with Italo Disco

DJ Sober, Dallas’ own amazing DJ returning to the fest again

GvsB II will be Saturday, July 28 starting at 6 pm.  Follow the link below for a nice recap of last year’s GvsB I, from You+Dallas:
