The two headliners of this Saturday night are usually recognized as Johnny Jewel’s musical children. The Portland based producer can be known for leading his own Italians Do It Better label and being a member of both Glass Candy and Chromatics. That isn’t to say the music is solely Jewel’s, Glass Candy is half Ida No’s, the lead bringing a whole load of energy to the stage.
Around since 1996, the duo have ranged everywhere from No Wave to Italo disco. As with Chromatics’ cinematic John Carpenter/Ridley Scott post-apocalypse-esque sounds, Glass Candy can metaphorically place you in your favorite disco club circa 1970s.

As per usual, there is fun to be had, and dance moves to be made. Glass Candy will be headlining Gorilla vs. Bear II this Saturday, July 28th alongside Chromatics, Twin Sister, Taken By Trees, Laurel Halo, A.Dd+, and DJ Sober.
