The emcee pair Paris Pershun and Slim Gravy have become the new voices of Dallas hip-hop since their debut as A.Dd+ in 2010. Their 2011 album When Pigs Fly sets up a compelling Outkast-y duality as Paris becames the erudite not so Silent Bob to Slim Gravy’s tall, shamelessly-spoken Jay.
A.Dd+ became one of SPIN Magazine’s five best new artists in May of 2012. Before their Gorilla vs Bear II, A.Dd+ opened for Black Milk’s Claps & Slaps tour, A.Dd+’s first full North American run. the duo, with stage DJ went back on the road soon afterward, opening sets on the West Coast for Talib Kweli’s Prisoner of Conscious Tour last weekend.
