For any music lover it’s all about the month of spring. Spring brings the promise of album releases and the hope of tour announcements. Having your favorite artist do something in a live show that you’ve never seen before is the driving force in many fans. So of course, I absolutely cannot wait to see what goes down in our upcoming shows.
The new Spiritualized album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light, may have been pushed back to April 17th, but at least we have a new track to listen to today. Hey Jane is quite the tease for what’s to come. Luckily, come Tuesday May 15th, Granada will be quelling the curiosity of fans across D/FW when Spiritualized expands their set list.
This is going to be the year when M83 capitalizes on the huge success and acclaim heaped on Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, which is about to get another push through the release of the Reunion EP. Coming out May 8, the EP will include remixes of “Reunion” by the Naked and Famous, Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr and Mylo. I so hope to hear one of remixes when they come to Granada May 19th and 20th.
The Only Place, the second album from Best Coast, arrives May 15th, and it should be a pretty fascinating listen. Noted sound-layering maestro Jon Brion produced the thing, which means it will sound a whole lot different from Crazy For You, Best Coast’s charismatic debut. Rest assured some of these new tracks are bound to be brought to life at Granada the following month, the 1st of June.
Brian Jonestown Massacre will release their 13th studio album,Aufheben, on May 1st. The 11-track album was recorded in Berlin at band leader Anton Newcombe’s studio. According to a press release, the German title has “seemingly contradictory meanings, including ‘to lift up’, ‘to abolish’, or to ‘sublate’.” You can catch them later this month at Granada on the 27th to determine exactly what he means.
And who can forget
If you’re a frequent visitor to the site, a music lover, or even just looking for good new jams you are probably well aware of when good artists are in town or when they release a new album. The best part about spring
