Ft. Worth’s Quaker City Night Hawks are a growing presence in the DFW country-rock scene. The band’s full-length debut ¡Torquila Torquila! calls back to rhythm-driven rock of the late 70′s and the fire of hard blues. Hawks rocked this year’s SXSW as the backing band for for Jenny O.
The Hawks proving ground is Magnolia Motor Lounge in Ft. Worth. The band has been there since its inception.
The Hawk’s guitarist Sam Anderson will play there alongside Josh Weathers every Tuesday this coming July. The band released their latest EP Live At Magnolia Motor Lounge this past week. Anderson leads a few other Ft. Worth bands, including Sam Anderson and The Thrift Store Troubadours and the stoner-rock band Epic Ruins.
The Quaker City Night Hawks open for Johnathan Tyler & the Northern Lights, and the Orbans at Granada Theater on Friday, June 29.
