Sundown at Granada to screen Spaceballs on rooftop patio for April Fool’s Day
Dallas Observer The Mixmaster presents...
DALLAS (March 20, 2013) – Sundown at Granada, the popular Lower Greenville beer garden and restaurant, is hosting a screening of the 1987 film Spaceballs for its first ever Fool’s Night Out event on April 1 at 9 p.m.
Fool’s Night Out invites all to come celebrate April Fools Day on the rooftop patio of Sundown at Granada. This is a chance to hang out with friends, to laugh, and let loose to one of the best cult-classics of the eighties, Spaceballs. Keeping with the theme, there will be a Spaceballs Costume Contest, Spaceballs Diorama Contest (WITH $500 PRIZE PACK), and a Spaceballs cake. Sundown also offers a great menu of healthy meals, a large beer selection, and specialty cocktails to serve throughout the night.
Spaceballs is a 1987 American science fiction comedy film co-written and directed by Mel Brooks. Originally met with mixed reviews, Spaceballs became a classic on video and one of Brooks’ most popular films. It parodies the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as other sci-fi franchises including Star Trek, Alien, and the Planet of The Apes films. The plot revolves around Princess Vespa, who is kidnapped by Spaceballs while running away on her wedding day. Her father recruits Lone Star and his trusty sidekick, Barf, to bring her back home safely, and the trip home is quite an adventure.
